Das Efx - Microphone Master

The 12" single for Microphone Master has a couple nice gems on it that were not available on the full length album/cd. I have to admit though, when Das dropped their 3rd album in 1995, Hold It Down, I don't think I even listened to it. At that time their style has been imitated to the point that I couldn't even listen to them do it anymore, even thought they were the orignators. Not to mention some new cats were dropping some really big albums at that time so I definitely slept on this. When I recently came across the 12" single for Microphone Master for $1 I figured I'd scoop it up and was really surprised at how good it is.

The album version is dope, produced by Easy Mo Bee. I'm a sucker for a good vibes sample and hard hitting drums. DJ Spinna hookedup the the jazzy Head Cracker Remix with the smooth bassline and crunchy drums. Easy Mo Bee produced the Sewa/41st Side Remix with a guest appearance by none other than Q.B.'s finest Mobb Deep.

These mp3s have some hiss and pops so if you want the cd Amazon has it for pretty cheap. Or better yet, go to your local mom and pop record store and buy it from them, I am sure they could use your business.
