Dirt Nation - Khadijah

This is going to be a short post because I really don't know anything about this group. I know of them because the video for Khadijah was one of my favorites back in the day. I don't know if it aired more than once or twice but I had it on tape and had it in heavy rotation. I picked up this 12" off of ebay recently for a few bucks. If you know anything about this group, the single or the video please post it in the comments section below or send me an e-mail. Did Dirt Nation drop a full-length album?

Yo,
This was my joint!!! I can't recall for sure, but I really want to say this group was from the DC area. Don't quote me on it though.
Good looking out,
Oliver
What up O!? I did some more searching on google and it looks like they where from Philly. I'm surprised there isn't more information on them on the internet. It looks like Khadijah also made it on the soundtrack for Sugar Hill.
Dirt Nation
New York rap trio comprising JB b. Brooklyn, New York, USA, KD b. Jamaica, West Indies and E Depp b. New Jersey, USA. Specialising in smooth, easily palatable at least musically goods, Dirt Nation's debut 45, Khadijah, became a summer 1993 hit throughout urban America. Quoting Curtis Mayfield, Jimmy McGriff and Marvin Gaye, and alluding to the golden age of soul in its mellow rhythms too, Khadijah was a tribute to the womenfolk often degraded as ‘bitches’ and ‘ho's’ in gangsta rhymes. The group met at school in Maryland, relocating to Manhattan in search of a record deal. There they recorded their debut single, plus a track with rapper Biggy Smalls Mary J. Blige. Their debut album's title was lifted from the movie of the same name, while a collaboration with Guru of Gang Starr has also been mooted
Thanks man for this track. Me and my boy just wrapped up a podcast and one of the tracks we played was Khadijah, I'm so glad we could do the final mix down with this great Vinyl rip instead of the version we had recorded on a cassette tape like a decade ago from MTV raps or somethin. Thanks again! Check out the podcast:

WHATS GOOD ZAK, THIS IS J.B FROM THE GROUP DIRT NATION.
TO ANSWER SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS, THE GROUP WAS FORMED IN COLLEGE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND COLLE PARK, MD.
WE HAD A CREW CALLED DIRT NATION , IT WAS BASICALLY A BUNCH OF BROTHERS THAT WERE FROM OTHER PLACES AND WE STUCK TOGETHER REAL HARD. THERE WAS A LOT MORE TO DIRT NATION THAN JUST THE MUSIC GROUP. IT WAS ATLEAST A HUNDRED OF US.
MAN WE USED TO HANG OUT HARD WITH THE BROTHERS FROM THE FRATENITY OMEGA PSI PHI, INC. A LOT OF DIRT BROTHERS WERE IN THAT FRAT. WE USED TO HAVE TOGA PARTIES AND DO A LOT OF PERFORMANCES IN D.C
KID CAPRI AND SILVER D USED TO LET US ROCK WITH HIM WHEN HE CAME THROUGH. WE LEFT COLLEGE AND WENT BACK HOME TO NY AND NEW JERSEY.
I, J.B A, FROM BROOKLYN N.Y, THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE GROUP K.D IS FROM JAMAICA QUEENS, AND EDAP IS FROM EAST ORANGE NEW JERSEY, AND MALC FRESH IS FROM BROOKLYN NEW YORK. WE LINKED UP WITH A GOOD FRIEND OF MINES NAMED EDMAN HE WAS PRODUCING WITH DADDY-O OF STETSASONIC AND WAS MANAGED BY KEDAR MASSENBURG WHO WAS DADDY-O'S BROTHER. EDMAN INTRODUCED US TO KEDAR AND DADDY-O WE SIGNED ON AND KEDAR WAS MANAGING US.
EDMAN WAS PRODUCING SOME RECORDS WITH US AND ONE DAY AT HIS CRIB IN BROOKLYN WE CAME UP WITH THIS FUNKY ASS RECORD. KEDAR GOT US A RECORD DEAL WITH ZOO/BMG AND THEN WE PUT THE RECORD OUT AND IT WAS A INSTANT GHETTO CLASSIC.
I WORKED AT BET WHILE I WAS IN COLLEGE SO MY BOY KEITH SHOWED US MAD LOVE ON THE VIDEO.
WE NEVER RELEASED AN ALBUM. WE MAY DO A REUNION ONE DAY BECAUSE WE MADE MAGIC TOGETHER AND ID LOVE TO DO IT AGAIN.
