These are mixes I made back when I was actively djing. Two turntables, a mixer and a stack of vinyl recorded to cassette tape in one 45 minute take. No multi track recording, no digital recording, no serato, etc. When I transfered the tapes to digital I had some technical issues so the glitches you hear are from the transfers, not the original recordings.

WFMU Mix
I made this a long time ago after record shopping at the wfmu record flea market in Manhattan. I just recorded a quick mix with all the records I had bought that day so that I could listen to them at work the following week on my headphones. So there was no practice or forethought, just playing music on the fly, but it turned out pretty good - a lot of James Brown production and funk 45's, and some blaxploitation soundtracks. |
